Doorset Solutions

There is a legal requirement for manufacturers of fire doors to demonstrate the ability of their products to resist the passage and spread of fire. However, if they are not properly installed, their fire resistance capabilities can be seriously compromised. The BM TRADA Q-Mark Fire Door Installation scheme has been designed to provide reassurance to specifiers, contractors and end users that the product they have chosen has been installed correctly and that it should perform as intended.

The Q-Mark Fire Door Installation scheme is based on training an individual who takes responsibility for the training and work carried out by several operatives. The scheme is designed to ensure that fire doorsets are being installed correctly, in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions or appropriate guidelines.

At M&S Contractors we have taken steps to ensure that the all our fire door installations comply with the requirements set out in the scheme. Starting with our Contracts Director, we are rolling out a training programme that ensures that all our Site Managers and Contracts Managers are suitably trained and hold certificates as qualified members of the scheme.

This results in the ultimate doorset solution, from procurement through to final installation and handover. Clients are safe in the knowledge that the fire doorset installation on their project has been carried our correctly and will perform in the event of a fire.

Whilst we can provide an ‘install only’ service for doorsets, to gain all the benefits of the above we would suggest our fully managed option.
